The cover is the first thing they’ll hear with their eyes. You have three seconds to make someone click, pick it off the shelf, read your name. It’s not an illustration of the album: it’s a door. If the door doesn’t open, what’s inside doesn’t matter.
Photography, design or both?
We can handle the photography, the graphic design or the whole package. We’ve worked with our own photographic material, with archive material from the artist and with concepts built from scratch. What we don’t do is put a nice photo in a template.
Who do we work with?
We’ve spent years making covers for jazz, blues, classical, electronic and experimental music artists. Some of these projects are on streaming platforms; others are vinyl pressings and limited collector’s editions.
How does the process work?
We start by talking about the album: the sound, the concept, the target audience. From there we propose one or two creative directions and work until the result is what it needs to be. There’s no fixed number of revisions.
What does it cost?
Depends on whether it’s photography only, design only or both, and how complex the project is. Write to us with details and we’ll send a proposal within 48 hours.
