Jazz I Am
Jazz I Am is the festival that changes format every year. New venues, new proposals, emerging names alongside established references. Barcelona jazz in a moment of permanent redefinition.
We’ve followed Jazz I Am since the early editions, and every year is different from the last. That’s one of the things we love most: you never quite know where you’re headed or what you’ll find.
Unexpected venues. Groups you’d never heard of. A set that runs long because nobody wants it to end.
Diversity as method
Jazz I Am doesn’t try to be the best festival in the world. It tries to be the festival Barcelona needs: plural, generous, without hierarchies between the big names and the small ones.
The breadth of the scene gets concentrated into a few days that always end with the feeling they passed too fast. Some Jazz I Am sessions have turned out to be the images we most value from the entire year — and not always the ones with the headline guests.
In 2026 we made our debut covering the festival in full: three days at El Molino, all concerts and activities. El Molino is a unique space — the jewel box of Barcelona — and the Taller de Músics jazz finds in it exactly the room it deserves. A privilege.
